Poland's Business Sentiment Rebounds Amid Uncertainty

Country: Poland SHARE In April, Poland witnessed an improvement in business sentiment, breaking a two-month decline streak. The Polish Economic Institute reported a 5.7-point rise in the Monthly Business Conditions Index, bringing it to 103.6. This positive shift suggests an increased prevalence of optimistic evaluations among firms, yet concerns persist over supply chain disruptions and soaring energy costs.

Components such as sales, new orders, employment, wages, and financial liquidity all surpassed the neutral 100 mark, signaling robust operational conditions. However, investment activity and production capacity utilization fell below the threshold, reflecting companies' cautious stance on long-term investments.

The institute highlighted economic uncertainty and escalating energy prices as significant hurdles for businesses, exacerbated by geopolitical strains linked to U.S. and Israeli military actions in Iran. Despite challenges, sales and new orders strengthened, and financial liquidity showed notable improvements, while labor markets remained stable with more hiring planned.
